Just have a quick question.... anyone know what the engine code is for the 2.7L motor in the SE and what other cars might share the same motor?
None to really this motor is really a one off but the interpid 2.7 is kinda of the same. I don't have my SE out to look at the code, if nobody post to this later I will through up the engine code for you.
So damn custom, I don't even need a sig!
sales code for 2.7L is EEO. same basic engine used since 1998 LH and still used in sebring.
Izzy picsmoney talks. unfortunately, mine usually says... "good bye!"
Not sure what you mean by engine code, is it part number? Perhaps the maintenance manuals will have the code you need - one of our tech members might have it.
Anyway, the allpar site has a lot of info on the history and development of the 2.7L engine, and which cars had/have them.

Somewhere in those pages I understood there were two slightly different versions of the 2.7L, the main diff being a slightly different shape so that it could be fitted transversely into the previous gen Sebring sedan/conv.

I'll be honest guys this is really my first domestic that I have owned in very long time and most of my knowledge is with mitsu motors.
Example: Mitsubishi Galant 1999-2003 (8th Gen.) the four banger had an engine code 4G64 and the v6 was the 6G72. Cross refrence and you will find the Eclipse 3rd gen. shared the same motor. So 90% of the engine componets where the same for the Eclipse and the Galant. Seeing as how the Eclipse was the more popular platform it had more support from the aftermarket community so more options for the Galant if you knew they had the same motors.
I am just curious to know if the Magnum has the same option for me. If an air intake was made for another car platform it may fit the Magnum.
