Zinik Z12 rim lug nut size for SRT8 Magnum

    Hi everyone,

I am in a bit of a jam.

I purchased new Zinik Z12 20" black rims and Pirelli Scorpion 255/45/20 snow and ice tires from Tire Rack the other day and found out last night that the stock SRT8 lug nuts won't fit in the Zinik rim holes (edge on stock nut is too thick).

Does anyone know the lug nut size that will fit in the Zinik for the Magnum? The stock nut looks like a 14 x 1.5mm but I am no expert. Do I need open lug nuts or closed?

I can't follow up with the Tire Rack today and tomorrow due to the US Thanksgiving holiday, but since it is now snowing in Toronto, I am anxious to get these new snows on.....maybe I should just get a winter beater ....but I love driving this SRT8!!

    Thanks!!

btw....it was fun driving to the dealer this morning in the snow with the stock F1 Goodyears....."slip sliding away"...brutal for grip! Too bad the dealer wasn't any help ;-(

Since the rims you got have covers over the nuts, I'd say anything (made to hold on wheels) that fits is fair game. You don't have to worry about how pretty they are, open or closed.

At least you have tires, apparently they're very hard to come by, right now.

14x1.5 ....if the rim has center caps....open end bulge lugs are fine....if exposed lugs....acorn closed end are fine.

Yup...14mm x 1.5 are the right size, but there were no lug nuts with the tires from the Tire Rack at all. I ended up finding some chrome acorn closed ended ones tonight through trial and error at Canadian Tire.

I wasn't impressed by the packaging though in the shipment......round cardboard pieces over thin foam held by tie straps but no shrinkwrap to hold it all together and seal the deal! One of the four was missing ALL the packaging and had a few small nics on the front and back. Man was I pissed, but considering how long it would have taken to get a replacement and the snow was coming in 2 days....I decided to keep it after Tire Rack gave me a rebate of $110US.....and they weren' too noticable. NOT impressed though considering the cost of the whole package! Ah well, I now finally have some grip. I will see how well they work tomorrow after swapping them out tonight ....too tired to drive now ;-).

Did your package from the Tire Rack come with centering rings? If so did you need to use them?

I read on a Zinik site that they ship centering rings with their wheel packages but I didn't get any of these either. Looks like whomever removed the packaging on one of my wheels in shipment removed my lug nuts......and possibly centering rings. You have got to love UPS...not only are they expensive, but they ship less than what you ordered!

I use them as my summer tire/wheel package 20's with F-1's

I used the McGuard locking lugs for mine and they worked fine. Don;t remember the part number though but they are available at most auto stores.

Do you recall if you received centering trim rings with your tires.....and if so, did you use them?
