Winter wheels & tires are going on this Friday. We are expecting our first snow Monday morning (ground's too warm for it to stick). I typically run my winter gear for 6 months as well as the fair weather stuff. So typically late October through late April I run my winter tires and the remainder of the year is the fancy stuff.

I just read an article where Pirelli recommends that snow tires go on when temperatures drop below 7°C/44°F. Even if it doesn't snow for a few weeks, you'll benefit from greater cold-weather dry and wet traction plus excessive tire wear will be minimal.

i have had the winter tires on my Dakota R/T for a couple of weeks now and i work at discount tire so that should tell ya something. lol. he is right. even all season tires don't have flexible tire compounds you get out of snow tires. the snow tire rubber stays flexible to give you the traction under 45deg that summer/all season tires can't.

yea the SRT is in the garage under a cover already. its coming out next week for one last track day though.

We got around 4" today. Roads were quite icy this morning. But it will be in the 50/60's the rest of the week. I think I'll put the winter tires on in November when the temps start staying under 40.
