Will this setup work for the Charger V6???

I would like to put these on an 06 Charger 3.5L. I have been doing alot of searching and I think this should be ok but wanted to check to make sure. Any opinions are greatly appreciated.

The wheels will work just fine.

The size tire is wrong, however. Try going with a 265/45-20, 255/45-20 or 245/45-20 because the 8.5" width isn't enough for the 275/40-20 size tire.

If your car came with the 17" size wheels/tire combo, I'd recommend the 245/45-20 because it's closest to the original stock tire diameter.

It seems I have seen other 275 tires on v6's in this forum with 8.5" rims. Are you sure they won't work?

Yeah, I am not sure...I don't want there to be any problems. I am also going to drop the car about 1.75", so if the 275's might rub somewhere I will stay safe and get the 265's. Best place I have found tire prices is www.tires-easy.com. The Hankook 275's are $124 each and the Toyo 265's are $126 each. Anyone find them cheaper?

I saw the some ones at tire-rack for 124 too. I'm looking at the american racing torq thrust's and the hankooks. in the same size. I think it's $1615 for everthing including shipping and wheel locks.

Dude...I think those rims will look great! I have a few friends running 275-40-20 without a problem. I chose to go the 255-45-20 route...until I get the 22's, lol!!

I thought you had to custom order the Torq Thrusts with the LX bolt pattern, and they were $400-500 each wheel? Are they mass producing them now, or are you going with the 5 x 4.5 (114.3) bolt pattern?

Sure, I've seen it done, but it isn't wise.

Putting a 275mm tire with only a 40 profile on just an 8.5" width rim causes damage to the sidewalls and the center of the tread to wear prematurely. It can be a safety concern as well.

I haven't found a tire, other than one meant for snow from Pirelli, in the 275/40-20 size that can safely be mounted on any rim less than 9" wide.
