Wheels are rubbing my control arm, NEED SUGGESTIONS!!!

Whats up my fellow lx'ers, i ran into a little problem. A friend of mines sold me his wheels at a good price, because he is moving out of the country. I installed the wheels on the rear with no problem, but when i installed them on the front, the wheels were hitting the control arm. The wheels have a offset of 35 which is wrong for rwd chargers, but i want to know if anybody out their have any suggestions. The wheels are 20x9, 35mm offset, and i tried using 5mm wheels spacers, but it still wasn't enough clearance.

mine cleared the control arm with 3mm spacers and they were 22x10. check around see if anyone would grind the control arm for you. i could not find anyone to do mine and i still want to so i can take out the spacers.

Get bigger spacers I guess, or ideally sell the wheels and buy a set with the right specs for your car!!! Anything wider than like a 10mm spacer and you should probably get longer wheel studs too.
I'd sooner walk than drive a car with a chunk ground out of a control arm.... you'd be introducing a HUGE stress concentration point that could frankly dump your wheel if you hit the wrong pothole.... not a good option IMHO.

I guess the price wasn't right if the wheel doesn't fit.

Stock offset for a RWD is 18, right? So like 20mm? Or am I doing that math wrong? I get confused between backspacing and offset.

    If a 10mm, spacer doesn't help, I would'nt bother. I would never recommend using a spacer larger than a 10mm.

Take a grinder to the control arm... you can take off about 3mm (1/8") with no problem. Then when you are done paint it back and then put the 5mm spacers back on and it should be ok...
    Thank you Bigal470

I misread your first post. Your car is a RWD, Right? There is no way these are gonna work. Get your money back or sell them.

Many people have done this in 2005 and 2006 and they have never had anytype of issues or problems. Plus just removing 3mm is not that much at all.
    Thank you Bigal470

AWD wheels are not designed to work on RWD. Get the proper wheels. The tires will work on the proper wheels.
