what's the widest tire we can run on the rear of the Mag?

Mag RT, rear wheel is 20x10, +25mm offset. car will be lowered about 1" from stock. I'd like to run 315/35/20's in the rear, is it possible?

You should be able to. I had 275 and was no problem and have heard of 305 with no problem so seems like it would work. good luck

I was more concerned about the width as an issue, since the backspacing of the wheel would be right about at 6". I'll probably need a 1/4" spacer or so, for the rear. I think 275/40's will fit in the front with 20x9's.

Be careful with spacers as this puts strain on the outside of the wheel bearings where it wasn't really designed for. It wont cause a terribly fast wear, but it will wear them a little faster than normal.

The largest that will still collapse up into the wheelwell is 315/35/20. After mounting, you need to carefully check lateral clearance, I needed to shift the cradle to ensure equal clearance to the inner fender lip both sides:

I've heard of people having 295's on the stock SRT wheels with no probs.

Hemissary, that's exactly what I was looking for. What's the offset on those SLR replicas?

I'm running 275/40/20 without any problems and you can see that my car is quite low.

I'm running 275-40-20 with 20x8.5 on the front with no issue. And 295-40-20 with 20x10 on the rear. Rears are Mustang rims, so I added an 8mm spacer to make them work. No issues with vibration, etc. I plan to go with 315-35-20 when it's time for new tires.

I dont have a Maggie but im sure you can get a 315/35/20 rear in there with the right offset, I did on my Charger.

I had to machine the wheels to fit the LX platform (they used to have a 112mm on-center bolt pattern); they are only available with a 35mm (Mercedes) offset, so I machined hubcentric spacers (0.75" front, 0.50" rear - sourced proper wheelstuds), the actual offset on the rear to fit the 315's works out to 23mm.

The 315's under heavy cornering loads (at the track) can force the corner of the tire (where the tread meets the sidewall) into the plastic inner fender liner (along the most forward portion of the tire). This creates superficial rub marks on the inner fender liner itself. Otherwise, no contact anywhere even during full suspension collapse (keep in mind the top outer corner of the tire moves progressively inwards as the asembly moves up and into the fender well).

Good to know. Looks like the sweet spot for the rear wheel offset might be around 18-20mm then. What's your suspension setup like?
