so i need new tires and am debating on what to get. i am thinking toyo proxes ST in a 265 35 22 (thats the recomended size). and my wheels are 22x 9.5. but can i go bigger without staggering the sizes?

not really. i wanted to go to a 295/35/22 on the back with the 9.5" wheels, but the tire manufacturers all say you need a 10" width for the 295s. you could debate the importance of that last 1/2", but figured i'd stick with the professional opinions.

trust me, your installer will thank you. 35 series tires are a real pain to install on wheels.
You can go 275/30 22
would that be the same size just wider?
265x35x22 = 29.30
275x30x22 = 28.49
almost an inch smaller of a tire overall. I would stick with 265s if I were you... unless you go to a 10" or 10.5" rear wheel... it wouldnt be worth it in the long run. It will be more of a hassle
