Vreds, wet roads, and my halfshafts?

I just bought new tires - Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas - for my '06 CSRT-8.

Today, the roads have been wet. On a few safe roads, I gave the Vreds a little bit of a workout. And they are sticky. Very sticky. Even in the rain.

All of this is leading up to the following question: now that my tires are MUCH stickier, do I need to worry about snapping my halfshafts?

My first thought was "no way, they are fine" - but I've heard of many people snapping them, so I'm not so sure.

My ride is stock, except for the Vreds, a Mopar CAI, and some Billet Tech. Although, a Corsa exhaust is in my future (damn you, 402 Motoring, for temping me so, and doing such a good job on everything).

So, need I worry about my halfshafts?

Thanks. They are that durable? I assume it was only people who've done tuning, or who are running NO2 or such that have to worry?

I haven't had a problem yet, I've got about 8,000 miles on the Vreds and plenty of power to light em' up.

    Thanks.
No issues with the halfshafts, even with your Vortec in place?

I've had Vreds for maybe 10K, they are marginally stickier than Goodyear RSAs at the dragstrip which isn't that impressive. I wouldn't worry about your halfshafts. I only broke one after going from MT Street ET drag radials to ET bias-ply wrinkle wall tires.

On the one end we have DVSSRT8 pulling 1.60 60' times and 11.54 in the quarter mile with stock halfshafts and on the other hand I know someone (mostly stock) who broke one driving off a curb while his wheel was spinning.

None. I have not gone to the track, but I don't hesitate to smoke 'em on the street.

Just for reference, here's a poll that's going on, attempting to determine who's broken a half shaft and under what circumstances:

Stock, or close to stock cars broken halfshafts?
