    Vredestein's or Toyo's

So since my new car will be on the road soon, i was looking for feedback on tires. Looking for how the members with these tires feel about them. Are you happy with them? why or why not. The will be going on 22" vipers. 265/35/22 and 295/30/22. Thanks.

I just went through this same decision process. I had Toyo Proxes4 on my 20" Viper wheels that I just sold. Excellent ride, good handling and very good wear. The problem is in the 22" size, the closest you're going to get is 265/30 and 285/30. I wanted a 265/35 and a 295/30 so I had to go with the Vred's. If you want those sizes too, you only have one choice between the two.

I think they make them in the S/T in that size but not the Proxes4's. The Proxes are a much better tire for our cars than the S/T's. (Sport Truck)

I've heard excellent things about them but I don't know yet. They're sitting in my yard waiting on wheels.

I know I like the Vreds better than the Nitto INVOs. They ride and handle better and I know they grip better on launches.

I love my V's. I am impressed with how they are wearing to. I have been really good about flipping them side to side but they are wearing much better then I thought they would.

I've had both in 20" sizes. Hands down the Vred's are a superior tire. Road noise, traction, handling... the Vreds wins.

I'd compare the Toyo's to RSAs, but the RSAs win there too cause their quieter on the road.

    YMMV.

Hey what are you using the car for?

Cruising, drag race, road race? Your type of driving should play a part.

Toyo makes a good tire, but I think those sizes are not one of their more aggressive compounds and designs, thus you won't have the ride and stick you might hope for.

The Vreds are great tires too, but one thing everyone too often forgets is tires in 20" wheels sizes are often XL or Extra Load tires - they made them to go on an H2 or Expedition or some other big SUV.

I look at the traction rating and treadwear myself - an AA traction is good and if treadwear is under 250 its going to be a decent wearing decent sticking tire.

For reference, track day tires are AA with something like a 100 or less treadwear.

Thats a good point X E. Your intended usage should factor into this decision heavily.

However, I would not let the fact that the Vred's are considered an "SUV" tire deter you. Given our pigs weigh over 4500lbs, given their AA traction and 280 tread wear... well my opinion is this is an excellent "all around" tire, well suited to handle some fairly aggressive track use, as well as get you to that track and back in good, safe, quiet comfort.

This car is just going to be used for cruising. It will very rarley see the track. I just wanted feed back on road noise, tread life, handling etc. Thanks for all the relpies. Since I mount and balance tires all the time, I always see them new and have not had much feed back from customers weather they like them or not. But this is an excellent place for just that.
