They should fit on the stock rims, but they are taller than the 3% variance that tire manufacturers recommend. The stock tires are 28" and these are 29.1".

    Hmmm.

I though the stock tires were also 65s, maybe im just not very knowledgable on this issue. Wouldnt these tires be wider with the same height?

As your tire gets wider it will also get taller(as long as your aspect ratio stays the same) in your case the 65 series.

As an example: A P2256016 and a P2355516 are roughly the same height but the P235 is wider.

If you need anymore help e-mail me or PM me. I did this for a living for a long time. If I can do it anybody can.

Deuce (or anyone else that knows the answer),

If you get wider tires (P235) will you also need to get new rims?

    madjeff22:

Not always. Every tire size has a range of rim sizes that it will fit on. You can usually go up one or two sizes without any problem. If the change is drastic then there exists the possibility of needing new rims to accomodate the wider tire.

For handling purposes you should always try to go with the widest rim that your chosen tire size will fit onto.

As FYI, I just put the 18" RT rims on my SXT w/ 255/55/18 tires and there does not seem to be any problems. Also have the Eibach Prokit (1 1/4" drop).
