    Unhappy Tire rub... :(

Ok... so here is the problem... Lately, between the airhammer and JBA shorties... my gas millage sucks.. Why? Its so much fun to roll down the window, and drive really fast on winding roads...

So there is one road I drive, its posted at 35-45, two lane uphill (1 down), that I have been driving for 10+ years or so... Now its finally fun to drive Tons of visiblity, even in the curves you can see past the curves... BTW, the maggie loves it, between the hotchkiss sways and fat tires, there is almost no sway, and she grips tighter then the fat gym teacher in porkies

But when I am taking a left hand curve at say 80 or so, I hear a rub in the front passenger side. Never heard it before...

I dont hear the same making a right hand turn, and I have never heard it in a straight away.

I have checked my front right tire, and I dont have and visible wear, but I have not been able to get it on a rack and check the inside... But I have turned it all the way left, and looked and could not see anything on any of the edges...

Any ideas? ANd I know, I feel kinda like the guy who says it hurts when I do this... So dont do that... But I will

Hard to say for sure, but you may be just barely catching the tire on the fender. Have you checked the wheel well to see if you've bent the under side of the fender at all? I know if I try to run my air too low, and hit a bump while taking a corner hard, I will catch the fender with my tire. It's never damaged the tire, but I have had to bend the fender back up a bit!

I think I know what road you're talking about, but can't think of the name. It's the one going from Sylvan to Raleigh Hills... right?

Run your hand along your fender lip ande feel for a slight pull in the lip, you will know if its there.

Next I had to flip my Wheel Speed Sensor in it bracket as the cable was poking out and it would run when making sharp turns.

If your not sure what I am talking about I have a lot of pictures in my Hemi Registery of the rub issues I had.

Be careful... if it does catch on the fender you can tear the fender off... I've seen it happen on a VW. He wasn't happy :-) Sounds like maybe it's the inner fender well though, which will just wear out on the tire. Can you see a spot forming on it?

Perhaps its a wheel bearing? Do the brakes ever need a little extra push or the pedal go a little deeper the first time you press them after this turn?
