    Tire Pressure Monitors

    Hey all,

I've been looking at/thinking about getting new wheels and tires for my mag. The question I have is, can I move the tire pressure monitors from the stock rims over to the replacements? Or do I need to buy new ones?

    Thanks.

You can move them over. It might be better just to buy new ones...

the cost of breaking down your wheels and tires just to get them out might be the same as getting new ones...

    just my 2 cents...

$43 to move over the ones I already have?

Its looking like about $167 to have new ones installed on rims at purchase, so I guess its about 6 or half dozen.

If you do not have the TPS on your car... then you will not need these...

they monitor the pressure of air in the tire and once it dips below 25lbs... a light comes on the dash to let you know..

I bought a set for $37 a piece from a local dealer. I'd suggest shopping around.

Also, please do remember that not every aftermarket wheel will be suitable for use with the tire pressure monitors! There has to be enough clearance and the valve stem has to be angled correctly to avoid damage from road hazards such as potholes and debris we all occasionally hit.

Certain styles of the MHT wheels such as the Foose Nitrous actually have two valve stem holes on each wheel. The tire pressure monitors go in the inside hole and it's really a good way to go.

The sensors go inside the wheel. They do not get mounted outside of the tire.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I am getting a set of SRT8 wheels/tires that have the sensors. My car (05' Magnum SXT) was not set up for them. What do I need to do to get them to work with my car?

Budder.. I have two valve stem holes.. would you recommend putting them on the inside lip or in the valve hold that is in the center of the deep dish?
