TIRE comparison

Magnum R/T (stock 18in wheels, RWD) which is street driven (aggressive sometimes) in Florida where itrains alot, for a balance of longevity and performance which is best? Vreds, Nitto 420, nitto NT555or Toyo Proxies, other please give what each is known for and best utilized for Im kinda new to the game! ( also any specific size IE 245/40ZR18 better than others) THANKS

Bumping up to 255/55/18 is great IMHO, just need a programmer to calibrate your speedo.

After my OEMs wore off, I have been running 255/55R18s on my car.

I have run the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3, and it was a great performing tire on the dry and it was exceptional in the rain. I never hydroplaned in rain. Didn't matter if the road was just wet or if I went through standing water at high speeds. This tire cut through the water like no other tire that I ever had.

However, this tire lasted me only 22,000 miles. It is to be expected though as it is an ultra high performance summer tire.

Im currently running the Nitto 420S....I really like them...I drive very aggresive some times and the handeling is good...the wet weather traction is also good..I havent hydred the car yet....I like to spin tires and get sideways and the tread is holding up awsome.....

There are several other members that drive normal that they are getting over 50000 miles...I highly recommend them..

As for the others you mentioned...I cant help there I have never tried them....so far I had the GoodYear f1,s (stock tire) handled like a dream....wear out super fast (under 10000 miles) very expensive and some members including me have had them come apart at high speed....Ive also had Yokohama Paradas and I hated them...many members like them but I didnt....didnt handle good to me and chuncks come of when driving aggresive (spining tires, ect) I took them off after 3 weeks....

I researched tires for my MSRT8 for a few months and ultimately bought these. Good price, great dry and wet traction, quiet, and balanced beautifully. I dont know if they come in the size you want but for half the price of the the super car tires the Hankooks with about 500 miles on them have been performing well. I do not know how long they will last.

255/55/18 General Grabber UHP's Best rain tire ever! 40-50 thousand mile wear , very good dry traction as well, plus they look pretty sweet. Best of all = cheap.

Another vote for the Hankook v12. I bought these a few months ago and they grip much better than the RSAs..

I'm running the same tire (although 20" size) on my ride. They work very well, and yes, it's a good thing they are affordable

The Nittto 420's are pretty decent tires, but once they get worn pretty good they have the traction of a block of ice. Before I replace mine, I could spin the tires all the way through first gear easily.
