    Tire Choices

Ok, I’m going to ask (for the millionth time I’m sure) the BIG question…TIRES!!!!! I am not changing the 20 inch rims, but I am thinking about changing the tires. I have considered the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2, Goodyear Eagle GS D3, Toyo Proxy’s, and of course the OEM Supercars. First, should I stay with the staggered setup of wider in back or go with the option of all tires being the same size for ease of rotation and even wear? Second, I know if I use any other tire besides the Goodyears (except for maybe one or two other manufacturers) I am going to have the issue of a recal to get my speedometer, GPS and trip computers to come out right. So, which tire to choose for all around performance? I don’t care about wear so much but I do care about ride/noise to some degree.

Finally, who in the metroplex is a good choice for tire purchases and maintenance? I also need information regarding general Chrysler service issues (who does good reliable and honest work). So far I have used one dealer who sucked really badly.

I’m new to the area so forgive all the questions, but I need some help because my back tires are shot…BIG TIME!!!!!

The GY's get great ratings on the Tire Rack's web site. They also make them in the 255/55/18 size for us 18 inchers, er well 18" wheels now that BFG has dropped that size. Unfortunately, they aren't cheap.

Don't believe the guy in post #13, he's an idiot. I can prove it as I've known him for years. P.S. Get the Falken's for $600, you'll thank me later.

I agree, Falkens kick ass, compared to the other brands available in the size you are looking for.

I love the Eagle gs d3 but they only went to 275 so I went with Vredestiens and glad I did. Brand has nothing to do with recalibrating your spedo, tire size does. Use the attached calculator http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/infoTireMath.dos to compare options to your stock tires. /if you are off by 1-2 mph, don't bother recalibrating. Notice that as you go wider, your sidewall hight # can go down and still yield the same. Example 255/45/20 vs. 315/35/20 I cant say enough about these Vredestiens as many will soon find out. More on them here:
