    stock 17" tire help

I know, you said, "WHAT 17's???? What are those????" when you saw the title, but5 some of us are not able to "ball" yet....(did I really just say "ball" in a sentence?)
But I am able to get a lowered set of 17's and was wondering if: 205/40 17 will fit
my s-t-o-c-k 17" rim, or if anyone knows of a size that would look ok, since I don't have it lowered yet either....
    I appreciate any help.
    THANKS TO HAZMAN for avatar!

Assuming you are starting with factory wheels and with 215-65-17 tires and want to use the size you listed you will be running a narrower and shorter tire which is not good..The car is set from the factory with a sidewall height and if you go any lower than that it will throw off your ABS sensors and possibly effect your speedometer readout as well. You will also lessen your contact patch with the road with that 205 width although not a major decrease but it may have a drastic effect on how your car handles..I was wanting to do the same thing with mine before I got my 20's and my tire guy suggested not to vary from factory size that much..My 20's with tires are the same height as my 17's and tires from factory.Hope that helps
