SRT wheels on a Magnum RT...

    INFO needed....

My brother just put my SRT wheels and tires on my 2005 Magnum RT (so he can evacuate from Slidell LA and get outa Gustav's way) and has noticed the rubbing issue on the front (only in reverse) as I excpected having researched the fitment on LX forums.

I know the proper solution is to put 3mm spacers on the front.

HE can only find .25 inch spacers at pep boys... which are closer to 6mm.

Anyone know if using .25 inch spacers on the SRT rims will cause any issues? Should I just recommend that he drive it as is till he can get the 3mm spacers?

Wayne , I've personally experienced the 'rubbing' issue on my own 05 RT with the SRT rims and I would say, just leave it as is for now and be judicious when in reverse. Get the 3mm spacers later, but get out of Slidell asap.

I am out of Slidell already... my bro is looking after my maggie for me... and will be evacuating tomorrow.

He has just informed me he found a tire shop with 3mm spacers... all is good...

    Thanks... I love this forum.....

FYI - I have the spacers and still get the rub in reverse when the wheel is turned all the way.

It rubs the lotion on it's skin, or else it gets the hose again!

How wide are your tires? 3mm fixed my rubbing issues?

I have 275/40's on the front and have 5mm spacers. No rub, forward, backward or anywhere in between. I might try some 3mm spacers just to see how bad they rub. I'm not crazy about the hub contact area now.
It looks like 2012 will be very good indeed.
Unless the Mayans are right, then, well, never mind.

I had my 3mm made. You should be able to find some at a Hot Rod shop or Speed Shop? in the mean tim if he's just trying to get away from the Hurricane tell not to back away from it? J/K drive it with the1/4inchers till he can find 3mm.
