    SRT Wheels Clearcoating......

I want to paint the "SRT" lettering on my factory wheels to match body color, and I'm thinking the OE wheels are clearcoated. Okay to pimer and paint over the clearcoat with good adhesion? If not, what do you recommend to remove the clearcoat from the letters prior to primer/paint? Thanks for your help!

You really don't need prime to paint the letters. Just go to a local parts store and get a prep pen. It is a small plastic pen with fiberglass strands. It is used to scratch up rock chips before you touch them up. It works well for sanding in tight places, cleaning electrical connections, and fixing chips. Buy one and use that to sand the letter areas.

I did mine a while back. They turned out real nice. No problems with adhesion at all. I used Testors model paint. I just painted them and scraped off the excess with a credit card. Must see to appreciate!
