I have the 245/55-18 BFG G-Force KDWS on my Magnum. They are rated "W" for up to 168 MPH. How does this work? Does it mean sustained speeds of 160+ or what? If I had a "V" rated tire (149 MPH) and drove for 10-20 minutes at 160, would it explode? Or would that depend on the heat? I heard stories about Military people in Germany that this happened to on the Autobahn. Reason I'm asking is I'm thinking about running the Texas Mile in October and I want to be within specs. I'm shooting for 160 or thereabouts.
