    shocks..insights please

Here is the plan: install Hotchkis sways, install a set of RT springs and I was thinking of a set of shocks, but I dont know which ones. I do not want to lower the car, but would like to improve the handling....any suggestions? Is there a specific shock I should look to install? Thanks for the help!

I had long talks with Scott at GSM and HHP and they were very helpful, intelligent and honest with me.
If you don't want to spend $1500 on shocks, struts and springs they recommended SRT take offs.

My suggestion is skip the R/T stuff and go with the SRT take offs.

I just did my R/T and the front struts were worthless.
At least the SRT struts are Bilsteins and 1000% better then before.

The rear SRT are Novimat shocks which seem to be of much better quality then the original front struts.

    Good Luck!

But what if you already have the Hotchkis sways and springs installed? What options for shocks now?

From what I've gathered, all the aftermarket shocks are designed as solutions to lowered cars.

As I understand the springs on an R/T and an SE/SXT are the same. If you switch to R/T springs you're wasting time and money. As RR said, go with the SRT suspension if you don't want to lower too much. If you absolutely do not want to lower your options are the KW system. Like $1150 or so for the V1 though, more for V2.

Monte, your least expensive option for shocks now would be the eibach, as I understand it.

If you can solve your problem, then what is the need of worrying? If you cannot solve it, then what is the use of worrying?

    Rt stuff

I just went through this with my magnumRT and bought srt suspension. It will cost 300-500, seems to be in demand right now. Drop on car will be half inch but the handling and ride is better. Next are the sway bars, not srt because they are the same as RT. Also, I don't know as fact but charger take-off is stiffer than magnum srt take-off suspension.

I understand the improvement from going to the srt suspension but its not in my budget. So I am looking for the next level up from what I have now.

Well, I understand budgets, but your not going to get enough out of it to make it worth your time. If you are going to do this yourself, it's a "what ever" deal. You'll spend 2-3 hours (if your a good wrench) for not enough gain. You wouldn't real notice any difference. Now if you add some RT/SRT or after market sways, that's worth your time. The RT springs, struts and shocks blow.

If you are paying someone to do the swap, you'll really be tossing money away. You can get the SRT stuff for around $300 if you look hard.

The problem is that I don't believe there is anything in between. There is no aftermarket company making a reasonably priced strut or shock at this time. In my opinion the struts on the R/T were very poor quality and would not be worth the labor to install them. You should be able to get a complete take off set of SRT suspension parts on Ebay or other vendors on this site for $300 to $400. Not a bad price considering that even if a good aftermarket were available they would be about $100+ for each. It's always better to save your money for something better than have to pay twice.
