Yeah, those were featured on Top Gear (or one of those types of shows, mabye Horsepower). Definately interesting.

It was during a breakdown of different RFT (run flats) on the market or incoming.

I'd wanna see how the handle, how many miles you get out of them, and how much they cost - but no more worrying about curbing my rims!!!

It was mentioned at one point, about a year and a half ago when this was new stuff.

I'm pretty sure they'll have a sidewall on them when they hit the streets. I wonder how much weight all that extra stuff adds?

    I think it's awesome.

    Reinvent the wheel!

    Consider the bicycle.

first came the penny farthing- the big wheel/little wheel (what the heck were they thinking bike)

then the standard bike - 2 wheels the same size - boo ya!

    then came a recumbent.
    What the!
    How the!
laying down in a comfortable position and pedaling a bicycle.
    They're crazy I tells ya!

    The benefits I see:

    no more flats

not having to check pressure every month
(I guess pressure will be replaced with lateral strength)

    Wicked designs for wicked rims.

    Downside would be:

    No more Tire Shine .

    Incoporating a new tire:
how does it mount/ new mounting units
proving the strength and safety of the new tire
proving the new tire is better than the old
    and getting the price right.

I remember Keith Moon of The Who had a clear Vistalite drumset back in the late 60's. He filled them with water and goldfish....it didn't work out so well for the goldfish...
