    SE Wheel upgrade, tire question

I recently bought a set of 18" 10 spoke R/T wheels for my SE.

The current steels have 215/65 17's on the car from the factory.

I am thinking of putting on 235/55 18's on the rims when I install.
This is the size listed for the Daytona from the factory and when comparing sizes between the two they are extremely close on ride height. Will I have to have the car Star Scanned when I make this change? No TPMS on the car.

Has anyone replaced their SE with this combo and had any rubbing issues? Looking at my car I don't forsee any on the outer side not sure on the inside.

    Thanks for any advice.

    HotInfferno Dude,

How much does your 17" steel wheel weight?

I put on 20 inch rims from a Daytona package on my SE. You should be able to find tires with a lower profile that are nearly the same diameter as you current tires. Keeping the diameter nearly the same means your speedometer won't be off and you won't need any reprogramming. I suggest you go to the car bible and check out his tire section.
http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible_pg2.html. I believe a lot of people run 265 tires on their chargers with no rubbing problems. That is wider than you will be able to find most 18 inch tires in.
