    RT brakes Install ???

Hi I have a V6 and wanted to upgrade my brakes but not spend thousands of $$$ so I bought some used RT brakes off of someone that upgraded to brembos. Im trying to decide if I should do the job myself or pay. I need any help or advice you guys can give me with replacing brake lines, rotors and calipers on the RT. I do have the service many but would like to hear from someone thats actually done it. My main concern is with bleeding the brakes. Is it O.K. to bleed them manually? Do you need to use locktite on any screws/bolts? Any help would be much appreciated.

While it should not be a big job, I'd be inclined to do it in a shop that I trusted, or the dealer. Bleeding the brakes would be easier with 2 people, also. I'm not sure that Loctite will work on the bolts because of the possible heat, though Neversieze might be a good idea if you live in the salt belt.

Send a PM to Todd TCE.

He includes stainless lines with his Wilwood kits - I'm not sure if the fittings are properly sized to work with the stock calipers, but perhaps.

Thanks - yeah, I was going to link to that for you, but I see you found it. I don't know about the V6 setup, how it mounts, and if the 5.7 stuff is an easy swap.

As for bleeding, you can sure do it manually. I never did it on my stock setup (I have Wilwoods now), and I don't recall where the bleeders are on the stockers, but there's no reason you can't do it manually.

    Hope that helps some.

Everything went on perfectly I had a local shop do the install all that is needed is R/T rotors, brake lines and calipers w/adapters. The brakes feel a world better than my stock brakes. Now that Im sure everything goes on good Ill be getting R1 rotors and russell brakelines(once they have them on stock part # 694060). Thanks for the help guys. Now its time for some

You say that calipers w/ adapters are needed.... Is this adapter just the stock caliper mount from a V8 car? Or is it an aftermarket piece?
