    Talking rear differential leak

I got my Hotchkis sway bars installed today and they found some fluid by the rear differential gasket. I had just finished an oil change at the dealer, but I doubt if any fluids got splashed on the rear end. Has anyone seen a TSB on a rear differential leak for a 2006 magnum rt? I hope the dealer doesn't give me a hard time on checking this out because I installed sway bars. I'll try to find a winding road this weekend and test out the new mod.

Have them check the vent on the diff. There have been a lot of people with the seal leaking, they get it fixed and it leaks again, only to be found the cent had fluid coming out of it.

Mine was coming out of the vent and they fixed it with a vent filter (used a TSB from a Jeep) and never had to open the diff.

    Cool

We took our Magnum RT to the dealer twice and they just said the diff was over-filled and coming out of the vent. It did stop leaking eventually. Come to think of it, it was leaking this time last year though I don't know if the cold would have anything to do with it...

Thanks for the info. I'll keep an eye on it and have the dealer check at the next oil change.

Almost make you think that the diff housing is defective. No matter how many seals they replace.....it just keeps leaking!

Mine was leaking from the vent tube.I put a 5/8" heater hose and a clear fuel filter on backwards so I can see if oil is getting in the filter. No more leak and no oil in filter.
