    Sway bar pre loading myths

I see alot of talk here regarding "use adjustable links " so you can pre load the bars. Pre loading the bars can only work in 2 situations that I know of 1) preloading one side in an oval track application & 2) preloading one side to help the car drive straighter off the line in a drag racing application. In most handling applications adjustable links allow you to make the bar react faster by decreasing length or slower by increasing length. Just due to fact that they do away with the rubber end links will give a boost to how the bars react, because there are no rubber(OEM) bushings being compressed before the actual movement starts. Another (cheap) way to do this to change to a harder(urethane) style end link bushing that will improve how the bar reacts in a corner. In some applications(i.e. auto cross /track days) chassis stiffness will also play a role in how well the bars can do their job,as the best bars/springs/shocks & bushings in the world won't do any good if the car is winding up & un winding like a giant torsion bar in hard cornering. I'm sure some of the more savvy lx chassis tuners out there can add more to this,so feel free to add/correct me if my line of thinking is'nt correct,D.
