    Powdercoated AWD rims installed!

I appreciate all the advice the board gave me on this topic. The powdercoating was done on Wednesday and I went to pick it up to find that the coater had accidentally, he admitted it and showed me, dripped some solvent on the coating on one of the rims. The option was free or have them redo it. I am nuts about details so I had him redo the rim. Picked it up today everything looked good.

Took it for install, had pizza delivered to installers (gets a little extra effort not to damage the thing), and then waited. Two hours later install was done. I had them paint the weights and they installed them only on the inside of the rims. I am very happy with the look. I am going to get a second set of center caps and paint them red to slightly accent without looking too tacky. Any suggestions how to get these off without having to remove the rims again completely? I think the final effect is good and I am VERY GLAD that I painted the calipers red, it really looks good.

I will take pics in the daytime, but figured I should post some right away as well.

Nice! You need some powder coated lugs and center cap to go with it!

I actually like the lug nuts that way and I had intended to keep them silver to semi-match the trim along the side and the DUB edition trim that I have ordered for under the windows only.

I really like the idea of having the center cap done in red, but I am not sure that it will accept powdercoat so I will probably just paint it. I really don't want to hvae to take the tire of again so I am hoping someone can tell me how to safely remove them without going through that process.

Rims look awesome man.... I wouldn't recommend trying to remove the center cap unless you remove the rim from the car. Don't risk chipping the powdercoat. As far as painting the center cap?.... Hmmm thats 3 different colours on the wheel (black, chrome, red) Might look a little to ricey. YOu best have someone photoshop the cap painted red.

    Stock catback, and stock drivetrain

Nice job...That's the exact wheel I'm thinking of going to, only in chrome....Nothing personal. Just be prepared, I do NOT want to be negative here but my proffessional side always kicks in (powder coating). Black is a carbon based color, carbon is soft, therefore any color black, be-it paint or powder will be prone to fine scrathces, or cat wiskers. Especially if you clean the wheels with a bristle brush. The powder will hold up great, but over time it will haze a bit. They do look great ! Good luck.

No problem on the chrome. I would have gone for the same thing if I was not looking for a specfic sporty look that I have in mind. I have unfortunately decided that fine scratches are something that I am just going to have to deal with on my car and my rims. It sucks, but as a daily driver I really can't avoid it. NO bristle brush, microfiber towels only for sure.
