    painting rotors

I lost the threads about rotor painting.
What was that paint used - G2?
Do I need to remove the rotor or can I mask and paint?
    Anything else?
    Input appreciated.

Are you referring to painting your brake calipers? If so, powder coating works best.

I've never seen painted rotors. Interested in seeing pics of wheels with that mod.

I'm talking about the part just around the lug bolts where you set the wheel. My wheels show thru there and it's rusting.

Umm yeah painting the rotor would ruin break performance, and will not hold up to the friction against the pads...Anyhow...Id use dupliclor paint to paint the part youre looking to paint, assuming its not the actual rotor.

I just masked and used a high heat paint. All that rust looked like crap

OK...those are the calipers. Nice job (especially with the skull).

I like the powder coat finish but it's really personal preference. You can get a cheap powder coat set up at Harbor Freight Tools and DIY. Very easy. Probably a thread or three online on how to do it.

Odd looking caliper, that's the centre of the rotor or some call it the rotor hub; the caliper hold the brake pads

This is what you should do!!! POWDERCOAT your rotots!!! Pcoat looks the best and will hold up the longest!!! After the Pcoat go get ur rotors turned..... That will clean the breaking surface so u will have no issues!!!! Goodluck:]

Yep. Rotor hat. Scrolled down a bit too far and didn't see the rotor surface.

Still like powdercoating over heat paint.

powdercoating - can I do it, or send it out - don't like that idea.
nevermind - just re-read harbor freight info, thank you
