    Opinions on your Vredesteins

For those who have been running Vredesteins, how do you like them? How many miles have you gotten out of them under normal street driving? Any problems with road noise? I'll be going with staggered, so I won't be able to rotate.

    Any opinions are greatly appreciated!!

I have about 5K on them and have dogged the crap out of them and they are a great performer. Not so great in the cold, but predictable. They are solid.

    ive had 3 tire brands
Hankook Ventus ST (275/40/20 on all corners with 8.5" wheels)
    Nitto 555R (285/30/20 on 10" wheels rear, 275/30/20 on 9" wheel front)
Vred (275/40/20 on 10" rear.. using nitto on front still)

hankooks are junk unless you want a tire that you can just smoke up because they have no grip. and drive every day and last long.
dont perform worth a damn. worthless tire.

the nittos hooked and handled better than the Vreds.
i attribute some of the handling to the lower profile (it was too low frankly)

the vreds are definately a better "streetable" tire, due to the better handling in the water, less road noise, and MARGINALLY longer life,

but i would rather have nitto 555's for a street tire because with a wicked 5.7 setup, i want every last bit of traction i can get on teh street. and the advantages that the vreds have are not significant enough for me to feel like im missing out.

when i go thru teh vreds, the nitto 555R's will be going onto the back tires again, but i might run vreds in the front due to their characteristics in the water in the future.

I love my vreds! I have about 3 - 4k on them. Looks the same as the day I got them. Its a perfect Florida (hot Clement) tire. Sticks like slicks. Very hard for me to spin them when launching from a stop and I beat the piss outta them everyday. They hook great for a street tire.

I have heard alot of folks say they are not a good cold Clement tire. But I would say get them, you'll love them. Call Moes, one of the vender's here. Great guy to deal with and great prices.

Excellent tires, predictable at the limits of (cornering) adhesion, very sticky but wear accordingly (heavy foot equals tire wear). I have trouble with full throttle standing starts (strong 5.7 with 3.73 gears) even with 315/35/20's on the rears, but once heated up they grip well.

Do NOT consider using this tire at or near freezing temperatures! Bad frick'in idea given the tire compounds employed are hygroscopic (which is what makes them so sticky as a summer hi-performance tire). Add to this an accident at those temps would leave you open to liability if the other driver is observant...

275-40 in the front, 315-35 in the rear. Currently, I've got 295-40 in the rear.

You want a good wet dry all around tire? Go for the nitto invo!!! Check them out on nittos webpage. I've had mine on for probably 10 or 15k miles and love them. Handle amazing wet or dry and still got lots of life on them. I'm running 255 30 ZR 22 all around on my car and I can barely get them to spin, might be because of my V6 haha

^^^ Yes, for daily driving basically. Shouldn't have to worry too much about freezing weather or snow, here in GA. Looks like the following brands are available in the staggered setup that I want: Nitto Invo, Vreds, or Toyo PROXES S/T II. There are others, but at $300+ per tire, they are out of my price range.

I'm wanting something that will have good treadwear. The Toyos have the highest treadwear rating of the three.

How many miles are folks getting out of their Vreds?
