I wanted to put together a tire/wheel package for some limited street use, but more for track days and I knew my 22" Vipers with Nitto 420's weren't going to cut it.
I picked up a used set of 300 SRT wheels (Thanks Nathan!) and cleaned them all up and dropped them off at my powder coater... Fast forward one week and here ya go! The color is called Anthracite and it is almost identical to the Competiton Gray that I have on my Viper replicas.
Went with Nitto NT-05's in a 275/40/20 all around. They feel pretty sticky with a treadwear rating of 200 and AA in traction. Surprisingly, the tires are almost as wide as my M&H DR's that are 325/45/17 on a 17x9 wheel. I'm guessing that the M&H would flatten out on a 10" wide wheel a little more. Pics below.
Sorry, no pics with them mounted up yet... my car is still up at my shop - Modern Muscle in Chicago. Almost done with the stroker build - can't wait to try to destroy these tires!
Before:
After I cleaned them - lots of wheel cleaner, 3M pads, and elbow grease!!
After Powder Coating (Anthracite)...
NT-05's mounted...
Next to M&H DR's in 325/45/17
