    Exclamation New wheels found?

Think I may have found my new wheels. Too bad I couldn't get them at the same time I got my new tires. Here's a link. I want the 18 x 8s. Anybody know if these will fit the RT? My tire guys says they'll custom drill them to fit any bolt pattern. $300 bucks apiece. It this is for real, I'm gettin' 'em next month, when things slow down a bit.

    moparman,

American Racing only offers three or four wheels that will fit a Magnum and the Hopster is not one of them, if that is the wheel you are referring to. I'm not sure how they can redrill the wheel. I was a dealer for American Racing for years and as of June of this year they weren't selling any of their wheels undrilled.

I still have a very good relationship with some folks that work there. If you would like me to follow up on this matter just e-mail me or send me a PM.

I want to put some of their wheels on my Magnum too and if any of their "nostalgia" wheels fit I would already have a set on mine.

I will be very surprised if what this place is telling you turns out to be true.

Thanks, it sounds too good to be true, so it probably isn't. Then again; being the eternal optimist that I am, miracles have been known to happen.

There's a special order form on that link that appears to allow very specific specifications with regard to bolt circles and backspacing. I concur with your optimism...

Hey duceroadster2 mabe you can answer a question for me. I too had originally found a wheel I liked from AR only to find out it wasn't available for the Magnum. I ended up with something I liked a little more from BOSS, the BOSS 304's. I saw a lot of information from AR with the BOSS site, (Finally my question, lol) is American Racing & BOSS somehow affiliated?

No American Racing & TIS are affiliated. Boss is owned by American Eagle Wheels. Just a note the Boss wheels are 5x114.3 so although they say it will work its not really the right bolt pattern for the car. 5x115.

Sorry, you are correct on the American Eagle, my bad. But my BOSS 304's did come with the 5 x 115 bolt pattern and they had 3 or 4 other wheels I didn't care for that were also available in the 5 x 115 bolt pattern. Now they did have to be ordered and I did wait about 3 weeks for them, but they are available.

Here are both versions of the wheel. I chose the all chrome finish.

I like the AR rims you chose... I hope you can get'em custom...

It seems like they don't have much in the "old school Muscle" look that'll fit... Even less if you have AWD like I do...

I really want a set of Cragar SS looking rims...

I wonder why DCX used this funky bolt pattern size (5 x 115mm). Is it a MB thing? I can't find very many 18" wheels I like with it, but tons of 20s.

I hate to quote myself, but I'd really like to know.

It is actually not such a funky bolt pattern. Other cars use it too such as from Cadillac, Saturn and Pontiac just with different offsets and hub bores.

It is a larger PCD, so it is better suited because of its strength to larger cars with larger diameter tires and wheels.

Don't be too concerned about the lack of wheel selection at present either. All the wheel manufacturers are scrambling to come out with their wheels styles in this bolt pattern. Soon, you'll be able to find whatever you're looking for to fit your car.

In the meantime, why not look at the Boyd Coddington Smoothie II, which has the Cragar S/S look to it? You custom order them to the 5x115 bolt pattern and they come in the 18x8' size.

Thanks, but how much do they cost?
