    New Snow tires...question

I love poking around my car when it is up and the wheels are off.
I had snow tires installed Friday. While the wheels were off (still chasing the 25% left of the clunk noise) I happened to grab the brake caliper on the drivers side. I was shocked how much it moved side -side (kind of like on the pins). It actually moved the rotor. I tried the pass side it did not move much at all. Does something need tightening?

Its ok for the calipers to move a little but the rotors should not be able to move. Make sure they put the wheel back on all the way and tightened the lugs really well. When the wheel is put on, the inside of it should snug up against the rotor and prevent it from moving.

I think the wheels were off when he did it, in that case the rotor would move. With the wheel on nothing should have moved.

The movement occurred with the wheels off.

Lol oh, I should have read that more carefully. Yeah some rotor movement is fine when the wheels are off.

I would worry about the side that did NOT want to move, they SHOULD slide very freely on the slide pins. If one doesn't it will wear one pad before the other.
