Mopar Springs on 300 Limited?

I want to drop the car about an 1" or so only, as to not have issues with speed bumps due to my wife driving the car mostly. I have read the Mopar springs are about an inch drop but these I believe are for the 300C... has anyone used these on the V6 or do you know of other springs that would give me a slight drop but be speed bump friendly... any other suggestion appreciated.

I guess nobody has used the Morpar springs.... so, can anyone suggest a spring for the V6 300 that has the least amount of drop? No more than say 1.5"... the car is actually .6 higher than the stock height due to the 22's so 1.5 to 1.6 inch in drop will have a 1" net effect in overall drop due to the higher height from the 22's. I guess this would be OK but when I look at the pictures of the Eibach Pro Kit http://www.autotrucktoys.com/300/Chr...ngs-C1388.aspx
on this site they look way more than 1.6". Does this pic of the Eibachs look like right. Comments appreciated.

I'll bring this back up to the top to see if anyone can comment on what the V8 Mopar springs would be like on the V6 car... I am thinking it would just ride a bit higher... am I missing something? I want to get moving with these pretty soon so any comment would ba appreciated?

OK... so I'll keep the thread going... spoke to AutoTruckToys today and they tell me that the 300C springs will not fit the 300 V6 car as they are not just stiffer for the additional weight of the 300C V8 but actually a different size that would not allow them to be used on the 300. So if this is true and you want to lower a V6 300 1" or so only your only choice is what.... coilover???? Someone please help me out here and chime in if you know if the Mopars for the 300C can be used on the V6 Limited... I really want to lower this thing a bit but not 1.5" ie. Eibach or H&R.

Not true. The Mopar 300 lowering springs will work just fine on your car.

I have a Magnum first put the Goldline lowering springs from Autotrucktoys on it, it was just too low for me. But, they worked just fine, level. I have also now put the SRT-8 springs on my car (SXT) and they work as well.

Now, am I going to pay to R&R them if you put them on and don't like them? Negative. But it'll work just fine for you.

Thanks... this is good news. Do you think the car would sit noticeably higher in the front due to the lighter V6?

Mine did not with the goldline springs. When I put the SRT suspension on my Magnum it sits 1/4" higher in front than in the rear. The R/T has the same thing happen when they put the SRT suspension on as well, I'm told that's because of the different mounting points on the SRT struts. So I'm gonna say no, I don't think it will sit higher in the front. I was afraid of that happening on my car with both sets of springs I put on and it just didn't happen to me.

Now with all that said, it is my understanding that there is a difference in the 300 and the Magnum springs. The Magnum rear springs would lift the back end of the 300 up since the Magnum has more weight back there. (Mopar came out and said don't put their first lowering springs for the 300 on the Magnums as the Magnum would, and did, sag with the 300 springs).

Thanks for your response... sounds like I will be fine with the Mopar springs. It makes you wonder why they wouldn't just say they are OK for the V6 car. I guess they figure there is not a market for them with the V6 crowd.

They probably don't know, and it's better to be safe than sorry in their situation. They don't want a bunch of returns. There may be something I'm missing, but I sure don't think so.

What do you think is a fair amount of labor for install... my dealer quoted me $546 for install and alignment which I think is pretty steep. My local speed shop which has done a ton of work for me quoted me $316 plus alignment... better but a bit much I thought... what did you pay?

When I had goldlines installed on my Magnum, I was charged $200 which included alignment. This was from my neighborhood tire/exhaust/alignment shop. I'm not suprised that a "speed shop" would be more expensive. If the alignment you're offered is 4 wheel I'd say that's a good price. Other thing to keep in mind is that you're in a place with higher prices that we've got here in KS, so that may be a great price. I will note though that when they installed my goldlines, they were completely finished, including alignment in an hour and a half. Not sure how much time they're budgeting.

Yea.. I though a shop would only take a couple of hours max to install that is why I think 200 would be a fair price. I have spent many thousands with this speed shop and they usuall give me a break. Maybe to them 300 is a good deal but I know these guys will be done with the car in a few hours max... we'll see. I need to get something done soon as an inch drop I think would make a huge difference not to mention the body roll the car has now.
