    Unhappy Lowering Problem

Last Friday I had a shop put in my Eibach Pro-Line springs. Now I could have sworn I didn't have the dreaded tow prep option. But it appears that I do (and is confirmed on my ship papers ). The back end will NOT drop. The front looks great even with stock rims and tires (not contis).

I know I'll need to buy some stock shocks but, do I need all four or just the rears. I'm not sure about load levelers so I ask the great men at LXForums.

    What say ye'all?

    Thanks

There's good news and bad news. You know the bad...the self leveling rear shocks will not let the back drop. Now the good news is that there are a lot of owners that would like the shocks you have. The cost for each of the ones you have was the cost of the towing package. You get to retain some of the additional towing features.

The towing package was about $350. Each self leveling shock is about $350. New rear Mopar touring suspension shocks are about $90 each. But, from what I have read, if you have an RT, you cannot use SE or SXT shocks. Try a sell or swap.

Thanks for the info HLY. And I a RT I do have.

Since I posted this, I've learned of the extra engine cooling so *$%^ yeah man!!!

Now, I have another question. How easy is it to swap from the Nivomats to stock RTs and vise versa? I like the idea of making a little money for some other mods but, in my head, I know I'll regret getting rid of them in the future. I'm always slapping myself for throwing away stuff.

Would it be feesable to swap back to the Nivomats when I could use them?

I have enough equipment of my own. I don't need Hammer's cousins CRAP to load me down! And I don't think I'd let anyone named Looter even remotely near my Magnum.

Seriously folks. Is it just silly to want to swap shocks when the need arises? Or should I just go with stock and forget about hauling a lot of CRAP.

Since I've already installed the springs, going stock shocks is a given. Now I'm just wondering if I should keep the Nivomats around or sell them.

There won't be many times that I could use the load levelers but, just in case...

I would love the feedback. Thanks.

I'd keep em. I too have the tow package, and also did not realize that the self leveling shocks were Nimovats. I figured they would be air adjustable, first time had car in the air, I called the dealer and complained that I did not get the tow package. Boy did I make a fool of myself Anyways, I have no plans on lowering my car at this time. If the removal and install is not a bitch, which it looks pretty easy, I'd keep em so you are not limited to what your car can do.

OK. Wheter I keep or sell the Nivos, do I just walk in to the dealer and tell them what I need? Or can I get a better deal through one of our vendors? Which vendor?

    Thanks

I too have the nov's shocks. I would love to lower my Daytona about a inch or so to close the gap. Post any info you learn, so far this a great thread. I would consider selling my nov's after the swap. But, it may take me a bit to get the time to do the lowering sence this is a busy time of year for me.
