    Which locking lugs?

    Hi guys,

I want to get a set of locking wheel nuts for my CSRT8. Mopar SuperCenter shows (2) part #'s so I don't know which one is correct. Sent them an email but haven't heard back. Have any of you done a set for your SRT's?

    82208724?
    82209233?

    thanks

Do they make solid lugs without the sleaves? Than I'd be interested too!

    Interesting Reading:
    http://www.300cforums.com/forums/mop...-question.html

    Even more interesting reading:
82208724 at MPSC says "...for vehicles w/ exposed lug nuts."
82209233 at MPSC says "...for vehicles w/ wheel hub covers."

So *big grin here* get your butt outside and look at your wheels. If you have exposed lug nuts, get 82208724 and if you have a wheel hub cover over the lugnuts and cannot see them then get 82209233.

Heheh, I have overlooked those comment boxes on MPSC pleanty of times myself... no sweat. I think this addresses your question. (How about some rep?) *grin*

PS: Don't forget about the coupon code floating around the LXForums for MPSC. Save yourself a little more money. I think it's floating around the MPSC vendor section. Better yet, I found it: Discount Code MPSCDMAG for Mopar Super Center. Good for a couple bucks here and there.

Think twice before spending money on locking lug nuts. They don't work because the bad guys have a special socket they use to get your wheels off no matter what locking lug nut you use.

If the bad guys want your wheels, they'll get them. Your best best is money spent on a motion sensor on your alarm system for when thieves try to jack your car up. That'll stop them or at least slow them down.

I don't disagree with Vanilla, but things that slow thieves down may be worth it. Locking nuts: $35. New high end alarm system: $635.

Locking nuts may not be a bad first step and it will stop all but the professional thieves... if you have some wanna be thugs in your neighborhood they may not have the pro-larsony tool kit.

Disclaimer: Always make sure you torque down your lug nuts to the specified ft-lbs. Failure to do so can cause lots of problems. It even says so in the service manual.

Thanks all, I placed my order and even used the fine discount code provided. (and added a locking gas cap for those unwanted fuel additives, and some SRT8 mats)

As with all things, I realize nothing will stop a determined thief. However, it's an easy deterrent for those quick hits and maybe they'll move on to the next victim in line. Heck, at $900 a piece for wheel/tire replacement, these things make me want to consider changing my line of work.

Thanks Mr. Quarky...rep check is in the mail. You guys are the best!
