    Kuhmos for MSRT8 Newbie

i have recently purcahsed a 2006 msrt8 with 12.5k miles on the ticker. the car has the GY RSA 245/45/20 on all four corners. i noticed a small bubble in the sidewall of one of the front tires. well that does not sit to well with me on a car that can easly do 150+ mph. figure i will lose the rsa's. seems like most of you guys say they are crap and should not be on the car anyhow. my question is, has anyone tried the KUHMO ECSTA SPT summer high performance tire. this is not an every day driver and will not be driven in the winter months so i want a tire that will give me the best performance and handling. my local tire guy recomended this tire. i like the way they look. i am concerned about noisy tires. i want to stay w/ the 245's all around so i can rotate freely. any help w/ this would be greatly apreciated. just like to say. the people on this forum are awesome in their knowlege. thank you.

If you do not get too crazy you can put 255s on all fout corners with no probem.
That is what I have and no prob.

I do not push the envelope in the cornering though.

would there be an advantage to the 255's? do you have the kuhmos? also would i have to reset my computer to compensate for the different diameter. keeping my speedo/milage accurate.

245 to 255 is 1.2% slow, the diameters are 28.7 and 28.0. So for a speedo reading of 60 mph, you'll be going 60.7, you can punch the numbers in here; http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html .
My '08 came with 245/255 supercars, I currently have 4 - 255 Toyo Proxes on it for the cold & snow.
The Kuhmo line was once considered bottom of the barrel, but have improved their image in recent months.

I run Vredestein 275/40-20 all diamentions are the same as the 245/45-20 except they are 1.25" wider in the tread. $745 delivered from Ebay. Great summer tire. Look Great and ride is better the Kumo Esta ASC I had on before. Wet weather is very good. They have a stiffer side wall for SUV's and that works for these 4400 lbs behemoths.

There is a guy here (Cam) and he runs them staggered 275/40-20 front and 305/35-20 rear and it looks (sick) to use the lingo of today. The rears are like 12-13" wide I think.

I have no rubbing issues and I'm 2" lower front and rear.

I have the Kuhmo with 255 at all four corners. For the price, they are not bad. I think they ride better than the Nitto Invo's I had. However, the traction is not at good.

I am running the Kuhmo ASX 255/50 and they did rub the the spindle a little but with a 3mm spacer that problem was taken care of! I have only had the tires for about 3 weeks now but so far they seem pretty good for the price!
