I wanted the BFG G-Force KDWs in 255/55-18, but they're on a 3-4 week back order. I have a set of BFG KDWS in 245/55-18 coming instead. Anybody have these?

Yes. I've been running them for about 4,000 miles and am very happy with the better traction and handling from the contis. Just got them rotated for 1st time and treadwear seems pretty even.
Enjoy!!

I had them for 30,000 miles before putting on snow tires. They are fantastic tires. Keep pressures up, 38-42psi for best handeling. 40,000miles if you drive normaly. Was surprised how well they handeled as they wore out, even in the wet. You will like.

Well, I got them today, but almost didn't. I ordered them from Discount Tire. The Assistant Manager called me out in the shop to show me the problem they were having. They couldn't get the lug nuts off. None of the sockets they had would fit. It turned out Dodge, in their infitnite wisdom, had put a cover over the "real" lug nuts. My stock lug wrench wouldn't fit either the outer cover or the inner lug. Anybody else have this problem? I called the dealer and he said since they had rotated the wheels twice, he had no clue what could be wrong. He further said he would ask the tire guy about it. He called me back about 10 minutes later and said they didn't have a RT on the lot, but they had a Charger RT and a 330C and that the proper size was 13/16". What finally happened was Discount Tires finally decided they had after-market lug nuts that would work. I got 20 new lug nuts and a "Gorilla" bar with 2-double sided sockets for $40. Approx. 45 minutes later . I was driving off, just in time to not to be late for work. I haven't really had time to see how they are on the twisty windies. I can't wait to put them to the test. Comments. please.

I think your Discount Tire guy is full of it. Make sure you torque lug nuts after 25 miles or so. 110 ft/ lbs with a torque wrench not a Gorilla bar. Play around with air pressure to suit your driving style.I liked about 40 psi. Lastly after work find some "twisties" and hang TF on!

I have a friend that works for Uniroyal. they make the tires on my car.. I got the 245/55/R18 KDWS.. love them.. not bad in snow too.. still possible to get stuck. .but if you take your time, you can get out of anything. :-)
(got 44% off as a family discount too so that was just the icing on the cake)

Are you saying they stuck on some covers other than the originals (stock)?Originally Posted by 65standard
BTW, I took the back roads home today. They hold real nice. I hope they last a lot longer than the Contis did.
