Exclamation Just Curious: Why Disable ESP...

I've read here that some people have their ESP disabled. My question is why? Wouldn' t it be better to keep it on for safety?

ESP bogs the car down by cutting the throttle.

Try making a fast 90 degree right/left turn and accelerate.
The car will bog down big-time, to the point were it becomes dangerous as the car will not respond.

But I never turn off ESP in the rain. On wet roads our cars break loose too fast and without warning.

I've never pushed my car with in on to where it completely took control.

But, during wet conditions and turning on a sharp angle across a heavily traveled bridge.. driving non-aggressively, the ESP kicked in and saved my ass from spinning out. It's like it turns into a cat and just claws the ground then goes back to normal.

But, when I want to have fun.. spin the tires,, take a fun turn or something stupid like that, I only turn it off to have fun for that second. Then I turn it off.

Try this one, looks like Top Gear, frozen lake at 70mph, ESP off and on. Pretty cool, at one point, mid-maneuvar, you can see the right front lock up to pivot the car.

Just for clarification: in the video it first speaks about ABS. We have that for breaking, plus ESP for stability in tight curves. The video nicely demonstrates both.

    That's indeed a great video.

VERY EASY just push and hold your esp button down for a few seconds the dash will chime and read esp off. I think esp is one of the best things this car has to offer with out it i would not be able to drive it in the rain. I have turned it off in the rain and it get a bit scary at 70 with no traction...

I thought hitting the ESP button on the dash only disabled it like 70% or something like that...I have an 05 Magnum by the way if that matters...

I would need ESP disabled in order to drive your car on the dyno at work

And yes pushing the button doesnt do much, and either does the dumb pull the fuse thing.
