    High SPeed vibration Tension Strut and Tie Rods Warranty Question

    Well I have the high speed vibration that a lot of people have had. I took it into the deal and this is what they said.

    Tension struts need to be replace.
    Outer Tie rods also need replaced.

    Now for the fun part I have a Extended warranty (added care), the dealer says that the Tension struts are covered but the tie rods aren't.

    Here is what my contract says:

    FRONT SUSPENSION: Struts; Strut Mounting Plates,
    Bushings and Bearings; Upper and Lower Control Arms;
    Control Arm Shafts; Control Arm Bushings; Upper and
    Lower Ball Joints; Front Wheel Bearings(front wheel drive
    vehicles only).

    Steering Gear Housing and all Internal Parts;
    Power Steering Gear; Power Steering Pump; Steering Shaft
    Lower Coupling; Rack and Pinion Assembly; Seals and
    Gaskets for listed components only.

    SO I was going to give chrysler service contracts a call in the morning and see y one is covered and the other is not.

    Have anyone else experienced this? IF so did you have any luck

    Thanks for the help

    You are on the right track. Call the Chrysler Extended Warranty 1-800 number and ask them if there is a repair code/number (or something similar) for an outer tie rod for you contract. If there is, give the number to your dealer and they will have no excuse not to fix it under your extended warranty.

    I had a similar situation with my dealer. There was a missing brake dust shield bolt that was causing some rattling. The dealer told me twice it was not covered under my Maximum Care extended warranty.
    So I called the Chrysler 1-800 number and they gave me the repair code/number. I then gave this to the dealer and life was good again. Dealers can either be lazy or negligent in trying to help their customers get repairs covered under an extended warranty. They have to do some research, and maybe have to make some phone calls, to get a part/repair covered under your warranty contract.

    Calling the 1-800 number is your best bet. But also being knowledgeable about the verbiage in your contract will help.
    Not sure if this helps, but I have the Maximum Care extended warranty, (which is supposed to cover more than the Added Care).

    The Maximum Care also does not specifically mention tie rods.

    Carefully read through your plan for "What is not covered by Plan".

    My plan has the following clause.

    COVERAGE UNDER THE PLAN: WHAT IS COVERED?
    The plan will pay the total cost (parts and labor) less a deductible per visit, to correct any of the following mechanical failures, caused by a defect in materials or workmanship of a covered component and are
    not covered by the vehicle’s factory warranty. The only exception are those listed under “What is not covered by the Plan”.

    Since tie rods are not listed under "What is not covered...", then they should be covered.

    Read through your plan carefully and see if tie rods somehow fall under "What is not covered". If they are not mentioned, then you can try to argue your case with the Chrysler Extended Warranty folks if they happen to tell you there is not a repair/part code for tie rods.
