    Help! I can't drop it!

Ok so my offset is so that if I drop my ride I am taking the chance of shredding my tires...they are flush with the body of the car. I was looking at going down about 1.4" all the way around but the dealer said I would kill my tires. I have way to much invested in those wheels and tires to go with a different offset to make it so I can drop it.

I feel that if I just went down no more than a inch I would be safe...what would you all recommend....I am thinking of the SRT or Mopar coils? Thanks for the help.

When I had my coilovers on, I rolled the fenders, no probs with the fenders cutting the tires.

Also you think of going the air suspension route? Don't have to worry about her being to high or too low, adjust it to what you want when ever you want with the flip of a switch! I have had mine on for over a year with no probs.

Agreed....air is the way if you want to choose the ride height. If you could get it dialed in your wheels would look sweeeet!!

If your tires are flush with the fenders, you would probably be okay as long as you're going straight, but if you hit a bump while taking a corner hard, you will likely catch the fender with the tire. I've had that problem with my setup. I've learned what air pressure I need to run up front to prevent that from happening. With the tires straight, they usually tilt in enough that the tire will only rub on the plastic wheel well on a big bump or dip. The rear tires would likely not be a problem at all.

Do you have any close up pictures you can post that will show how your tires sit in relation to the fenders?

I dont have any on hand but I feel that if I go with no more than 1" drop I will be fine. Has anyone put on the Mopar springs? They claim to be 1". I don't want to have to worry about rubbing so if I can't do it I won't but it would be sweet to drop her down just a little.

The drop with any spring will most likely vary a bit from the manufacturers claim, and all springs "sag" over time...including stock ones. Just something to consider...

what are the specs on your rims & tires ... mine were flush with the fender well by appearence but when dropped they tucked in quite nicely

My favorite: your facts are flawed and experience sucks.....as does your attitude.

He shouldn't have sold you those wheels if they don't sit right on the car :-( I agree, air-ride might be your best bet. If you catch the front tire on the fender the wrong way you can tear the fender apart. I've seen pictures of this from guys that took their street cars to autocrosses. Not pretty.
