    help...any thoughts...

Just had the kw v2s installed on my car with the hotchkis sways. The front is perfectly lowered 3/4 of an inch. The back however is about midway down in the adjustment and is sitting an inch higher then stock...did we miss something? anyone else had this issue?

Sounds to me like they didn't set it up right, and got lazy... All you (they) should have to do is jack up the rear, remove the wheels, and loosen the set screw (2.5mm) and then use the provided tool to adjust the spring rest (or whatever it's called - the purple threaded ring that is on the strut, and the coil rests on it. I would take it back to the install shop and convince them that the job is not complete until the ride height is correct.

If they won't play, find a new shop, but you can do it yourself if you have a jack and jackstands, etc.

its a friend at the dealership doing it for me so its not an issue of getting lazy we just ran out of ideas. the set screws are only on the fronts. The rears are just held in place by the load. The spanner nut which is the purple adjuster you are referring to can be adjusted. But the problem is its half way down now and still sitting an inch higher then stock. So we took it all down and made sure everything was in the right place. I was under the assumption that even at its highest setting it would be lower then stock. So I have to be missing something...

Yeah, you're right about the set screw on the rears... and sorry if I came off wrong - had a good experience with the shop that did mine, read about others who didn't, and laziness was an assumption...

hmm... afraid I can't help here, unless it would help to know where mine are in reference. I can go check...

Ok, I was looking at the pics, seemed that the part # is upside down. So I had to go look at mine, sure enough, upside down. That kills the spring in upside down theory, and heck that would be hard to do. I noticed the part# on yours is 2730 ----. Cant read the rest of it. The part number on mine is 2703 GBKA. Maybe you got the wrong springs? I have a Magnum and I don't know if the Charger springs are different. But seems to me you've covered all your bases, gotta be wrong parts. If I think of anything else, I'll let ya know. This has got my curiosity up, please keep us informed.

Ok so I have spoken with a ton of people on this topic and even KW themselves...everyone that has looked over the pics says the same thing. They are in correctly. So KW is having me put her back on the rack and bottom out the adjustment and then give them a ton of measurements along with every part number from the kit. Not sure what this will do for them other then tell them its 2 inches to high...but I am at a loss. The fact that this same kit(and I mean literally) was on a srt8 charger with the same sways and it was lowered means to me either I missed something during the install or they have a lot of settling to do...oh yeah as for settling so far the front is stable at 29 and 1/4 from ground to fenderwell and the rears are still 30 and 1/4. Stock was 30 all the way around. I think the strangest thing for me is that it handles so much better then stock. I know you are all thinking why is this strange...well the fact that they are almost bottomed out in the rear and still higher then stock to me means I should be riding around like the rear was on a pogo stick and swaying in the breeze. But its the opposite. It feels tight and really solid in the corners and rides soft down the freeway...oh well 3 more days and back on the rack she goes...

sdcarguy - Did you also put sways in? I drove a charger with the Tein system with stock sways and it felt pretty good, not as good as ours with the sways. Just wondering. I now know the sway bars do make a difference.
Good luck with the resetting, at least it will be another thorough check through of everything related. Keep us posted on the results. Any pics?
