    Gorilla Lugs

Hey everyone. I have a question before I pull the trigger. I read a few posts here on LXF and ChargerForums about replacement Lugs for our LX platform vehicles. I have a 2007 Charger with the factory aluminum wheels on and I am being proactive here and want to replace the lugs before I have a catastrophe and a swearing session starts.

Anyways, in January of this year I had my tires replaced and I am sure that the shop probably torqued the crap out of those stock 2 piece lugs. So this summer when I am going to rotate the tires and maybe do a brake job if I need it, I don't want to run into the issue with the lugs ripping in half on me. So my question is this, a local parts store here near me ordered a set of Gorilla 91147 lugs for me and they should be in the beginning of the week. I have read that lots of people have used them in the past and never had issues and then others have had issues with that lug. Is it safe to use the 91147 lugs or should I tell them to switch the order to the 61148CH?

I don't want to screw up my rims or have a tire come loose on me. Just need some advice/guidance.

    Thanks.

Your fine with those. the 91147 are a little thinner. The 61148Ch fill the whole up a little more (I have srt8 rims). They are both safe to use. Its all on what looks good to you.

Either Gorilla lugnut will work just fine, but if you can change the order to the 61148 - I would do it.

The 91147 are good but are of a 2 piece design, you can still have problems with them when they get old.

The 61148 are the newest design and are 1 piece design, you will never have problems with them.

    Some photos for you.

Thanks for the feedback. From what I read on both forums people have used these before so I will just go with it then.

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. The 91147 I ordered are the one piece design and not the stainless lugs. Pretty sure the 91147SS I saw are the 2 piece design, same as the stock lugs. Didn't want to go through that.

I guess the only difference I saw in the 91147 and the 61148CH lugs is the acorn bulge at the bottom of the lug and the 61148CH(1.45) are a little bit longer than the 91147(1.40). Did a bunch of research this morning on it. So I am good with the original order. If I'm not sure about them, I can always swap the order.

I have the 48's and they're great... except that they have too large of a diameter to fit my Cobra drag rims.
