Goodyear F1 Supercar Tires Defective? WTF?

Below you will see pics of the front driver side, 20" Goodyear F1 Supercar tire, that came stock on my 300C SRT8. The car has slightly over 11,000 miles. Only this tire has wear down to the cords.

I brought it to a dealer for a possible alignment problem even though only one tire was affected and only the outer rim of the tread. They said they made an adjustment from .03 to .01 but that is not enough to cause this and they can't figure out how it happenned.

I then brought the my car to a GoodYear dealer. The manager said the car must of been way out of alignment to cause this.

    1) Has anyone seen this with these tires?
    2) How much life is left in this tire? The Goodyear guy said it needed to be replaced immediately but of course he wants to make a sale.
    3) I wanted to replace the F1's with toyo proxes when these wore out but now do I replace this one tire with another GoodYear F1 until the rest finally wear down or do I start replacing one tire at a time?

Help from anyone who has experienced something similiar would be appreciated.

PS Only this tire (Front driver) was affected and only the outer rim. The rest of this tire has plenty of tread.

Alignment. I'm gonna be on my fourth set here very soon. I have no complaints about the F1's and no issues either. BTW, I run with -1.5 degree of camber and my thread wear is perfect even with all the highway driving I do.

With how mine wear and my camber adjusment. I would tend to believe that perfect or close to "0" degree camber would wear the outer edge off just like what has happened to yours.

And BTW before anyone asks me why my rides like that.......................I dun't gaknow.

Tim with All Time Racing recommended a slightly negative camber for those of us who go on road courses or do a lot of "spirited" driving. It seems to spread the wear more evenly on the front tires. Why, I dunno either. Just what I heard. And no I haven't had issues with that kinda damage on my F1s, just that they start getting slick around 11,500 miles.

Yes and I didn't. I thought for sure I would be wearing out the rear tires first!

Could be that your shop's alignment rack is out of calibration too. My friend works at a dealership and he told me NOT to get my car aligned there because he doesn't trust their rack as its set up right now.

My front passenger side was worn to the cords only on the inside, about 2" in width. I think it has to do with the stock camber.

My front tire is wearing the same way. I've had the dealer look at my alignment on 2 seperate visits. I could tell something was out of wack when the steering wheel would start to shake about 80mph. My other tires are wearing just fine.

Did they come up with a solution?

As I recall, Eibach offers a camber correction kit for LX's (presumably to allow for correction after installing shorter springs); it might provide greater adjustability.
