    finding the right size tire

okay i have yokahoma parade spec x and wanting it to be a wider tire on my 20 in rear wheel, they are getting bald and i need some new ones soon, wanting to keep same tires cus the fronts are totaly 90 % good, even after 20,000 miles, but for some reason they dont like tq on the rears if you know what i mean, but wanting a wider tire i have 275/40 right now and you can see the avilable sizes hear
    http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Sizes....=Parada+Spec-X

    i was thinking a 295/45 would work???

you know i just fing looked at the speed rating of my tire it is R that is 106 mph, that sucks iv ran 170 befor with theis jezz is it that dangerous to run that high over the speed rating, cus i though the guy new what i was doing with a stagered set and needing alot of rubber under the rear DUH..

Nope. Well, it would fit- but your gear ration would be off.

295 is the width in mm
45 is the sidewall height (percentage of the tread width) from shoulder to bead seat

    a better sizing would be a 315/35ZR20.

Why not just run 275s all the way around. You'd be able to rotate the tires, and extend the tread life.

Also- are you sure on that speed rating? where did you get it from?

If the tire size is 275/40R20 115V, then the R= radial, and the V=speed rating.

I ran 275 45 w 255 45 in front its was great as long as you stay under 80mph. I wouldn't due it. Scary braking, front end shook, drive shaft clunked, pulled during braking, aligned it.... balance it ..nothing worked. Gave up went back to 255 45 20.... no problems.

okay i though that the speed rating was always befor rim size okay kool then if v is the rating.. how high is v?

also i couldnt run a 275 all the way around cus i have 8.5 rims on front and 10 in wide on the back hense the staggered.

I'm running 295-40-20 on the rear of my Magnum, and 275-40-20 on the front. With the same rim sizes that you're running.
