Finally installed the rims I bought last October

It's time to take off the winter rubber and put the F1's back on.
As the car is driven year round, I knew I needed a 2nd set of rims and at that time nobody had yet found out that certain 18" rims work on the SRT8.

So I ordered a set of 20" Boze Wedge5 and put the F1's on them, with 255/45/20 snows on the stock rims.

The Boze rims are staggered, 8.5x20 front, 10x20 rear. They are contrary to current styling trends as they have a wide spoke, unlike many of today's more open designs. So they probably are not to everyone's taste. They are about 6 lbs heavier than stock (see end of this post for pics).

Tires are the stock F1's for now. It is pushing it a bit to install the 255/45/20 on a 10" wide rim but until there is some choice on staggered rubber, I decided to just wear these out for now. (The Toyo Proxes 4 has since come to market and would work, thanks Teahead!)

Here's a bunch of pics pics taken today and yesterday:

    Boze engraved the centre caps:

    close up:

    Stock front wheel and 245/45 tire weighed 59 lbs (no pic avail);
The boze 8.5x20 with the same tire weighs 65.5 pounds: (total 6.5 pounds heavier)

Stock rear wheel and 255/45 tire weighed 61 pounds:

Boze 10x20 with the same tire weighs 67.5 pounds: (oddly, also 6.5 pounds heavier)
2006 Magnum SRT8 "HEMIWAGN"; HalfFast Performance built: Frank Racing Extreme Heads, Scudd Cam & Ported Intake; lafrad Tuned, Paramount Performance 4400TC & Valvebody. Best 1/4: 11.065 @ 123.54 MPH, 1.560 60' 3755lbs with driver

I really like that look. It's different and has more substance than the narrow spoke rims. I think the wider spokes are perfect for a bigger car like the Magnum.

I am one of those people who likes the skinny spokes, but I liked those from the first time I saw them back in December at Jaak Attack. Wheel looked great in the back of your Mag, look much better on the wagon though. Great Choice. Definately look like they are screaming for some meatier rubber on the rears.

Well if you're looking to end the life of your F1's quickly just act like Jaak LOL

Normally, I like thin spokes, but I have to admit those look very good on your Mag!

Hey thanks everybody for the nice comments.

I have to give credit to my wife for picking these rims out -- she is not my Superior Officer for nothing!

It felt like forever to get these installed. When the cold weather was gone for good, I wanted to detail the car before putting the wheels on. I just couldn't post pics of new rims on a dirty car. And the claying, polishing, waxing took a good 3 evenings, then with the rims not yet on the car, somehow I managed to drive the pristine car though, I don't know what, maybe a patch of 'cement water'-- is there such a thing? and drizzled that all down the right side. Another 3 hours claying that off (thank goodness the wax was on!)

No not really bowing - I think i dropped a penny and some jerk took a picture.

Same scale as jaak. Now I know why we collaborate so well on the LEDs!
