Question Educate me 245's versus 255's

I think I know the answer to this...but want to make sure. I am looking at 20 inch wheels to replace the stockers. The recommended tire size for the wheels I am looking at is 255/45/20. Of course the stockers are 245/45/20. I am keeping my tires as they are fine... will the 245's be fine? If I am right the 255 is just 10mm wider? Staying with a 245 doesnt effect the look/fit of the wheel right?

I guess I am looking to confirm a basic question... Can I stay with my 245's without issue?

Yes, you should be fine. Many run 275's on their 20's. Running anywhere from 245-275 puts you in-line with common practice.

The 255 will not only be a little bit wider but it will also have a little more sidewall. In my opinion, when I saw non-SRT non-lowered LX's with 245 tires, I thought they looked a little small. I went with the 255 tire because it seems to fill up the wheel wells just a little better, but we're only talking a few millimeters difference so it could all just be in my head.
