    Drag Racing Tires for SRT?

Anyone figured out some drag tires for the SRT-8?

The Discount Tire Guys told me when he looked up my Magnum SRT-8 that the stock R/T rim would fit it (even clearing the Brake Calipers). If that is true could I get a set of stock R/T rims for the back for driving on the Drag Strip?

Anyone found a cheap rim to fit the SRTs, I know the back caliper is smaller than the front so I am hoping there is something to fit.

The stock RT wheel WILL fit on the rear of the SRT8..... but not the front.
The issue I have found is that the tire I want to mount on the stock wheel is too wide to fit on the RT wheel......

For those of you who have used the drag radials do they help the 0-60 ft time. I am running a 9.04 in the 1/8 mile with a 2.1/2.2 0-60 ft (1790 elevation, ave. 80 Degrees)

are you spinning the tires? if not, then no they wont help you. they could actually slow you down from the extra drag. i tihnk the f-1s are fine for a pretty stock car on a well prepped track. just drop the pressure to 25. you get to hear all the stupid alarms go off though.

if you are managing to spin them then bfgs would be a good choice. i like nittos, but dunno if they come in 18s. tend to last quite a bit longer.

so what can I do to get better 0-60 ft time. I have tried no power braking/power braking/ falling asleep and no matter what I am still over 2 sec. and slpw for an SRT-8. Damm, I beat an R/T by only .567 sec the other night (ok, he had headers/ cat backs but still)

At the SRT Nationals a guy with a stock 6.1L motor and stock rear end had the Nittos on 18s...didn't work for him cause nmot enough power to the tires and no limited slip.....

He sold them to some Yahoo with a bunch of work done to his car and a limited slip who is spinning his tires all the way down thru 2nd gear...

Wonder what will happen on Wednesday night?

Aw, the advantages of NOT having a join account yet and a wife who didn't even reconize the difference between a R/T and an SRT (Really smart woman, 3.??? GPA in college...just not car Savy).

    SHHHH, don't tell
