Does this mean I can't get lowering springs?

I've been tooling over whether or not to go with lowering springs, or just scoop some SRT suspension.

Regardless, here's what I noticed today, as I was scanning through my build sheet.

    Power Rack and Pinion Steering
    Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel
    Touring Suspension
    Load Leveling and Height Control
    Tilt/Telescope Steering Column
    Compact Spare Tire

Does that mean I have the nivo's, and can't get lowering springs? If so, I guess that makes up my suspension choice for me.

I'm pretty sure that you can't get lowering springs but I would wait on an expert opinion. I have the same thing and I couldn't get lowering springs without changing the shocks. If it turns out you can't get the springs I've got srt suspension for sale for $400 + shipping.

All you have to do is change out the rear shocks for normal ones, no biggie. Even if you get an SRT suspension the rear isn't going to drop with the Nivomats. I have some stock rear shocks with only about 12,000 on them if you need some.

I lowered my car with the nivomats, so far no issues. I'll change them out if there becomes one.

Care to share details? Because apparently you've done something no one else on the forums can

You will not get the full drop lowering springs offer if you use the nivomat shocks in the rear. Not really an issue. If you want to drop, you simply buy non leveling performance dampers (shocks) You ride will be much better as will be your handling.

Well truthfully, I wouldn't really be mad about the ass end sitting higher. I like the raked look, personally.

So, that being said, will the nivo's constantly trying to level the car be detrimental to my performance?

Also, how much does SRT suspension lower?

I wouldnt mess with your nivomats....If you want a drop it is severe that you do indeed change your rear shocks if you want to avoid blowing them out. Trust, It will be a nightmare.

Then you might as well leave the stock springs in. If you have lowering spring in with the nivomats, the car will never fully sit on the springs like they should. Most of the work is being done by the shocks. Your ride and your handling will suffer as a result. But......If you like it, go with it.

Check these pics out. Both pics are after installing Eibach Sportline springs (2" drop). 1st pic is Sportlines with the nivomat shocks. 2nd pic is with the Eibach pro dampers. Notice the rear height. The nivomats kept the rear of my car almost 1.5" higher than where it should have been. In addition to being higher, it also was floaty, bouncy ride/handling.

Sportlines 2" drop with nivomats. Only got 1/2" drop. Bouncy, floaty ride and handling.

Sportlines 2" drop without nivomats (with pro dampers) got full 2" drop with much improved ride and handling.

Good advice form a few guys here. Either change out the shocks and springs at the same time, or go will a full coilover system. Sitcking with the stock nivomats and doing lowering springs is not a good idea.

We can set you up with an aftermarket setup if you'd like.

Heres the thing, I want my car to be somewhat raked, so how do I go about doing that the cheapest?

I haul sound equipment, so I cant afford to have the bacl end sitting too low.

Im open to suggestions. Maybe SRT suspension with pro-kit front springs?

If you want to get a nice Rake then yeah, you could just lower the fronts with Pro-kit springs.

The only downside is you can't control the drop. So you will have to put the springs on and see if you like the way it looks at that height.

If you're just going for looks. And you are just wanting to lower the front, you could go with Mopar lowering springs, SRT springs, or Eibach Pro-kit springs. And leave the rear alone. This is probably not going to be much of a performance improvement though. Mopar lowering springs are supposed to lower about an inch, SRT maybe a little less, Eibach Pro-kit advertised at 1.3", but seems to usually be 1.5". Using Eibach on the front without lowering the rear may be too much of a rake. Your idea of an SRT suspension with Pro Kit springs on the front could work. Trouble is finding just the front springs. You will most likely have to buy the complete set and not use the rears. By the time you buy an SRT suspension plus Pro-kit, you might as well get coil-overs.
