Do any "coilover" kits actually use REAR coilovers?

Everyone talks about "coilover" suspensions for our cars. Obviously, the front comes with coilovers stock, and those just get replace with different/better coilovers.

    But what about the rear?

Our cars come with a spring, and a rear shock.
Is there such thing as a "coilover" for our rear suspension?

If so, can someone point me to a link somewhere?

    Thanks

Don't think so. There's nothing magical about "coilovers" vs. separate shocks and springs, they just package nicer.

You are totally correct JMatt. There is not much room around our rear shocks to fit much of a coilover spring. I have not seen any direct bolt on ones.

Yeah, many folks use the word "coilovers" a bit loosely. When someone states that they switched to coilovers, it sounds like they changed the suspension design, when actually they only changed part for part. I guess when you spend a bunch of money, you have to use a different word (and partially incorrect) just like folks use "CAI" when the OEM intake is probably more of a cold air intake.

    just my 2¢

I smile because i have no idea whats going on.

A true coilover could be ride-height adjustable without needing a spring compressor. Otherwise - from a pure physics standpoint, there's nothing the stand alone units cannot accomplish.

^^ This is very true, you can't really preload a loose spring.
