    Coilover Ride quality?

For anyone who has either KW 1, 2, or Mopar Coilovers. Do you feel the ride quality got better or worse? Would you do it over again?

I have kw v1's. The ride quality didn't get worse, but it changed. Some would call it a rougher ride, I call it more responsive. At high speeds it is just as smooth on the highway as it was. Around town at low speeds over harsh bumps it is a bit rougher as you feel a few more of the bumps.

I also have 22's also so that could be part of it. I like the ride as the handling has greatly improved and the look can't be beat. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

I have a 300 SRT btw...so with a charger's stiffer suspension it will be less noticeable.

You can adjust the damping on the V2s so you can adjust to your liking. I have mine set at 2 turns front and back. I might be setting it softer for the winter, maybe try 3.

The KW V-2's are way firmer on ride it may depend a bit on your degree of lowering.
It took a bit of getting used to and once in a while one of those crappy transistions on the freeway will get your attention, but to be able to corner like a go-kart...priceless!!

I could never go back to stock supension, I would end up in th edirt or upside down!!

Makes it a whle 'nuther animal for sure!

I also forgot to mention that with the V1's I have it lowered pretty much 98% of the way down so I'm about 1-1/2"'s lower than stock on the SRT.

I have the KW V2s on my AWD R/T. Firmer(rougher)on rough pavement, however the 2" lowering and the glued to the road feel more than compensate for any firmness!

KW V1's & 22's here. As others have said, feels more responsive, ride is firmer. In comparison, I have drove other stock wheels tires and suspension SXT's, & they seem like they wallow a bit. Not bad, mind you, just different.

Hey Chris- missed you at the XXX meet- I like the new avatar.

I too have the Var II KW's, and they definitely stiffened up the ride, much more than going to 22" wheels. I have them set at the factory settings however, and they can be set softer. Teahead adjusted his softer and has said his ride is smoother than the stock suspension.
I have been tempted to adjust mine softer, but I know I would miss the handling. I might though, once I install Hotchkis sways.

If I had it to do over, I would install the Tein coilovers with EDFC controls so you can adjust the ride as you are driving. These weren't available when I installed my suspension.

I have ST coils, which are equivalent to KW V1's (just not stainless), on my Mag R/T.

I'd say the ride improved 100% for my liking. Sure, it's not limo-plush like the stock suspension, but I didnt want it that way to begin with. All that floatiness around corners and at redlight stops..blech.

Basically its the difference between being able to TAKE a corner, or just 'go around' a corner. Its firmer, but in a better way.

It's the only option out there right now that gives you the opportunity to adjust the damping from inside the car as you're driving.
My kit arrived this week and I'm dying to carve out the time to drop it in and replace the way-too settled eibachs and shot stock springs.
