    Brake Upgrade's?

Been thinking about upgrading the brakes on my magnum, not wanting to do a big brake swap or caliper swap. Just looking to possibly replace the rotors with either slotted, cross drilled or slotted and cross drilled. Whats the best, anyone notice any difference in life expectancy of these performance rotors compared to oem style? As for brake pads looking to go with ebc green stuff brakes ran them on one of my old cars and just loved them, any other suggestions. I want to use something for everyday driving not anything crazy.

also whats everyone's input on steel braded brake lines?

If I end up going with ebc products for brakes and rotors anyone no of a good online retailer, any supporting vendors caring these products as well as the brake lines?

    any info. would be great.
The mod List is getting to the point that its just to long to post. So if you wanna know whats in it, just ask?

Cross-drilled rotors will crack if you really push the car, unless they're cast-in and chamfered. Stainless lines will make the system feel firmer but won't actually add stopping power. That's all I got.

About 2000 miles ago, I installed some EBC slotted and dimpled rotors with the Green Stuff pads. So far, I am really pleased with both. There was a lot of squeaking at first, but the squeaking has diminished and is almost gone. The brakes are much grippier and feel solid.

I got the rotors and the pads for $309 (rotors $233.95 and pads $75.95) at autoanything.com. Here are the part numbers if you're interested:

    Rotors: part# GD7241
    Pads: Part# DP21724

A description of the rotors and pads are at:
    http://www.ebcbrakes.com/Automotive.html
    They're the Sport Rotors.

Man I am glad I saw this post. Did the same thing and have the squeeks. I was going to yank the wheels off this weekend for a good look over but since you had it also I will just chalk this up as breaking em in. Beans for you!

Thanks! It looks like we bought the rotors and pads for the same reason. I had "the shakes" pretty bad, and the dealership told me that it would be $185 to turn my rotors, so I decided to just spend the $300 and get the front rotors and pads replaced. I've been told that the materials used and design of the rotors should allow them to dissapate heat better and prevent warping. I average 15k miles a year, so I'll know really soon how they do at 10K.
