    Blown shocks @ 36700???

I have had nothing but bad luck this year. Ever since my fiasco with saleensean and the stripped carriage bolt my rear end has been has been giving me problems. I had the $400+ repair job done only to have the same side start rattling again. I took it in for service and they told me I have a blown shock on that side. The cost to repair the two rears...$393.00.

Does anyone know if there is a replacement shock out there and the part number to it? I have been quoted from the dealer $108.00 so far. Does Monroe make any?

its possible, i know my shocks arent nearly as good as they should be, but i hear there all weak, except for the srt's, so i"ll ride them out til i can afford to swap in a coilover setup, being that there really arent any aftermarket shocks to replace the oems..

    Thank You Haz

Well I was able to get a part number for the Monroe sensa trac...it's #5797. Installed it would be $180 for the two. Unfortunately since I am not having the dealership do the work, they are charging $90 diagnostic fee. Its still less than the dealer in total though. **sigh** And the money continues pouring out.

I have the Nivomat self leveling shocks and I recomend those if they fit you're SE. Mine have 101,000 hard miles and still seem fine. If you can scarf up a set of those, go for it. One other thing to look for in the front end is sway bar bushings, when they go they rattle like a beotch, at least there cheap.

I have 97,000 miles on my RT and am looking for replacement shocks, just because.... The Monroe say that they are for a softer ride, not what I have in mind.

About once a month, I Google aftermarket performance shocks for my Magnum, and get nothing....bummer. You would think with all of these LX platform cars out there, someone would make some good shocks.

KYB came up with an excellent shock for the PT Cruiser within a year or so of production. They were a huge improvement over the OEM shocks.

The Lord bless and keep your coming and going!
